Dr. Bettina L. Love, award-winning author, abolitionist, and professor, will be joining us on Monday, May 18 at 4:00 pm PT/ 7:00 pm ET for our Teaching for Black Lives End-of-Year Celebration. She accepted our invitation for this exclusive event for study group members due to her respect for your efforts this year. Rethinking Schools editor Jesse Hagopian will be in conversation with Dr. Love on “why it matters for teachers, authors, and librarians to bring liberatory education practices into the classroom — and why the work the study groups have done all year is so appreciated.”
You will also hear from a panel of Teaching for Black Lives study group coordinators which will then be followed by a slideshow featuring group photos, actions, and testimonials to celebrate the seeds planted and the actions blossoming.
Study group members and coordinators who attend and complete the end-of-year survey will be entered into a raffle to win a book – with multiple chances to win.
If you want to shout out your study group, send us a short quote or a 15-second video clip telling us how your study group supported you this year. If you adapted one of our lessons this year, hosted a Black Lives Matter at School event, or another action inspired by your participation, share your photos! We’d love to include your story in the slideshow.
